Matthew 5:9 Children of God work for peace.

Opening Prayer…

“Lord God, thank you for today. Thank you for your Son Jesus and the incredible words of wisdom from the Sermon on the Mount. Living life as He teaches me can help me walk moment by moment in faith and joy and peace. Holy Spirit, remind me throughout the day to reFocus on what Jesus is showing me. Help me to carry it with me and practice it in every situation so that in the end I will give glory to God in my life.” Amen

A Word from Jesus… Mt. 5:8 (Good News Translation)

“God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.” (NLT)

There are a great many people who believe themselves to be children of God. Yet, it is those who carry a presence and message of peace and offer peace as a gift who are actually called the children of God. What does the presence of peace look like? Listen. Understand. Ask good questions. Walk in the ways of God’s commandments even if no one else will walk with you. Look to Me and what is recorded in the gospels. Pay attention to how I, the Prince of Peace, encountered the world. Follow Me.

reFocus Today…

  •  Is there a something in today’s Word from Jesus that resonates with you?
  • What do you hear Jesus saying just to you in your thoughts, heart or spirit?
  • Is there anything that draws you closer to God?
  • Is there anything that makes you want to turn away from God?
  • How do imagine this may impact how you view your situations and people you encounter?

 Prayer:

Lord, as I walk close to You, I will look for You. Just for today, Lord, open my eyes to what You see. As I stay present in the moment fill my heart with gratitude. Is there someone who needs Your touch today or Your listening ear? How about someone who asks for help that I can give to or an encouraging word I can share? Show them to me, please. I want to be a child who offers Your peace. Amen
