Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and will dine with that person, and they with me.
Revelation 3:20

Open doors and walk through… this characterizes Chaplain Betsy Buhler’s life. After Betsy opened the Lord’s door as a child, she began to prepare herself for a life of service, and now finds joy in helping open doors for many others. Betsy’s dedication to the Lord has manifested and evolved over the years, from serving as a youth pastor in college, to where she is today, Founder and President of her own ministry.

Twelve years ago, Betsy began serving as the Media Minister for Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas. What began as an audio/video team of two, Betsy grew into a well-respected Media Department staffed by 22 full-time and two part-time employees. The support of countless volunteers make it possible to staff seven main weekly services, as well as fulfilling scores of media needs for Groups, bible studies, and events.

Although Betsy manages a large team for a mega-church, her passion for one-on-one ministry in the name of Jesus has always remained close to her heart. Through Betsy’s work at CBC, she found great joy in numerous opportunities to serve police officers, first through funerals hosted at CBC, and then on more personal levels. She became a Chaplain for the San Antonio Police Department and spends her free time ministering through fellowship. This has opened many doors for her to fill needs in the secular workplace; she frequently is called upon to counsel at offices on job sites.

The office of chaplain resonates with Betsy. A chaplain is with folks in times of sorrow, in times of great joy, and everything in between. Betsy’s gifts of listening and counseling, through solid truths rooted in God’s word, provide unwavering light for those who look to her for help and encouragement. reFocus Today’s personal heart-to-heart ministry continues to provide doors for Betsy to open and walk through. Her desire is to be where Jesus would be.
